| During the recent success of NASA's Discovery mission the number two in command, Steve Robinson, delivered the very first podcast from Space. Transmitted one day before landing, Robinson's broadcast marks another first for NASA and gives a telling nod to the podcasting concept approximately one year after its popular propulsion to mainstream. The 'podcast', consisting in this case entirely of audio feed (thus no accompanying RSS) gives a nice account of Robinson's feelings on board and some insight into the pride with which someone in his position embarks on such a mission. The highlight for him was the spacewalk to fix the infamous foam problem where he could look out and detect 'no evidence of humans anywhere'. Indeed he describes it as the most fantastic experience of his life. The historic broadcast can be downloaded directly from NASA here. |
